I have noticed certain things my generation has come to rely on strongly.....

 

Spell check- I am a terrible speller.  Not sure why, blame it on the fact that i didn't learn phonics, because i was reading chapter books while the teacher taught the other kids phonics.  but anyway, i am a terrible, awful speller.  I would be a wreck without spell check. (ooh but check it out, i can rhyme!!!)  I can't even imagine using a typewriter to write anything, because I would never get it done!  I love this MSN Spaces thing, but they should have spell check on the blogs, as you have probably noticed!

 

Cell Phones-I know, I am addicted to mine too.  For some reason, we feel like people should be able to get a hold of us where ever we are, whenever they want.  Is that an inflated sense of self-purpose?  I know, we have them for emergencies, right?  I have rarely used my phone for emergencies.  We are shocked when someone doesn't have a cell phone, or has one, but doesn't carry it with them at all time. When i was in High school, i didn't have a cell phone.  But now i have to ask High Schoolers to turn them off before youth group, and even some Junior Highers!

 

The internet-We are an internet generation.  Want an answer to something?  look it up on the internet.  Want a phone number?  look it up on the internet.  Want to figure out how to get somewhere?  look it up on the internet.  What about books, phone books, and maps?  are they too going to go the way of the dinosaur eventually, with this techonolgy taking up more and more of our lives?  Even this blog is a way for me to keep in contact with my friends and family.
