As is the nature of church life, today there was a funeral.  I didn't attend, as I really didn't know the family or the man who died.  I stayed in my little cave of an office.  I did venture upstairs at one point in time to get stamps.  and right then, the funeral ended, so i stayed in the secretaries office to wait for the crowd to clear.  It is hard to hear the cries of people mourning.  Even though i didn't know them, i wished i could help them.   and it struck me how often we think of a death as an ending, since it is the end of our relationship with that person.  but it is a beginning for that person, as they go to meet God, and a beginning for those left behind, to learn to live without the person they lost.  both endings and beginnings have quite a bit in common. they are scary, exciting times, and they are so definate, beginning, end.    there are beginnings of movies, books, and also endings.  but I think what matters most, be it in movies, books, or life, is the stuff that happened in between.

 

 

well, i am off for the weekend.  its going to be busy!  i will get my house clean tomorrow.  peace to you all!
